What a 100Green quote has to beat

Every tariff compared →

100Green doesn't publish its prices in a form I can use, so I can't cost its tariffs. Give me your postcode for the cheapest tariffs I hold for your home and the price cap, then set 100Green's quote against them.

Your postcode only places your home in its price-cap region. It isn't stored.

Pricing a medium home: Direct Debit, gas and electricity. Ofgem's figures for homes that use less than most (1,600 kWh of electricity, 6,000 kWh of gas), about the middle and more. Your bill or your supplier's app gives a truer answer.

100Green: what to know before you buy

The story

100Green is the trading name of Green Energy (UK) Ltd, based in Ware, Hertfordshire, and its site dates the company to 2001. It describes itself as a company with feeling, and says its staff are the same people who paint benches and clear footpaths in their spare time. It is a Which? Recommended Provider, according to its own site.

The energy

Its electricity is 100% renewable and generated in the UK, bought from small businesses and farms that produce green power. Its gas tariffs include a share of green gas, or biogas, made from organic waste such as manure and crops. 100Green says its 100 Origin tariff is the only one in the UK with independently eco-labelled, 100% green gas.

The tariffs

Sparkling Guarantee fixes your rates for a set term, while Sparkling Variable moves with the wholesale market. 100 Origin is the eco-labelled option. Tide EV gives cheaper overnight charging for electric cars, Tide Lifestyle has low daytime and evening rates, and Tide Smart suits homes with solar panels or a battery. There is also an export tariff for home generation, and prepayment meters are supported.

Switching

You get a quote on its site, then it handles the switch with your old supplier. If your previous supplier raises an objection, such as an unpaid balance, the switch can take longer. You have a 14-day cooling-off period after signing up, and 100Green says there are no exit fees on its tariffs.

Saving

Energy prices depend on your region, meter and how much you use, so the quick route is to get a personalised quote and compare it with your current bill. Check the unit rate and the standing charge, not just the headline. Any live code or deal is listed on this page.

Support

It says it has no chatbots or phone menus, so you reach a person in its UK team by phone, email or webchat. It also publishes help for moving home, meter readings, the Priority Services Register and bereavement.
