What does boohoo sell?

boohoo sells clothing for women and men, from dresses, co-ords, knitwear and denim to coats, nightwear, lingerie and shoes, along with accessories, beauty and homeware. Its women’s range can be browsed by fit, with plus size, petite, tall and maternity sections, and there are edits for workwear, wedding guests and going out. New styles are added through the week.

Alongside its own label, boohoo.com sells labels from its wider group, including PrettyLittleThing, boohooMAN, Dorothy Perkins, Karen Millen, Oasis, Coast and Warehouse, plus a selection of third-party brands. Some items are sold by a partner company rather than by boohoo itself, and the site names that seller. It changes how the order works: partner items are delivered only within the UK mainland and Northern Ireland, most can’t use the faster services, and they go back through the partner’s own returns process.

How does delivery work?

boohoo delivers across the UK with standard and faster services, and Northern Ireland has its own standard service. Orders can also be collected from an Evri ParcelShop or an InPost locker. Charges and cut-off times are on its delivery page and shown at checkout, and some bulky items carry an extra charge. Premier, a paid delivery subscription for UK addresses, takes the delivery charge off several of these services, and its page sets out the terms. Orders reach the warehouse moments after they’re placed, so neither the items nor the delivery address can be changed afterwards.

How do codes and payment work?

A promo code goes in at the billing and payment step of checkout, and it can’t be added to an order that has already been placed. Its help pages say codes are specific to a country, some only work with a particular delivery option and some cover only selected products, so a code that fails is worth checking against its terms. Payment is by card, Apple Pay or PayPal, and Klarna, Clearpay and PayPal’s instalment plan spread the cost. Student discounts run through Student Beans and UNiDAYS, which each have a page on its site.

How do returns work?

Returns start in boohoo’s online returns portal, within the window in its returns policy, with a label printed at home or a drop-off option that needs no printer, and any returns fee comes off the refund. Items need to be unworn and unwashed with the original labels attached, and swimwear, lingerie, pierced jewellery and beauty products can’t go back once a hygiene seal is broken. There’s no exchange service, so a different size means returning the item and ordering again. Refunds go to the original payment method or, by choice, a gift card, and the choice made on the first return applies to every later return from that order. Faulty items go through customer care rather than the portal.
