How much does Chipp cost in the UK?
Chipp's self-serve plan, Studio Pro, costs $299 a month and includes $100 of AI usage, with anything above that billed on top. Prices are only shown in US dollars, so a UK card is charged in dollars and your bank may add a foreign transaction fee. The pricing page doesn't mention VAT.
The other two plans are services as much as software. Build For You costs $2,500 a month: Chipp's team scopes, builds and trains your system over three calls, with a private Slack channel and priority support, and you pay your own AI usage. Fractional CTO starts at $12,500 a month, with a one-month minimum, and puts Chipp's team in charge of rebuilding and running your software. Every plan is month to month with no annual contract.
Two add-ons are sold with Studio Pro: White-Label Platform at $999 a month, which removes Chipp's branding and lets you resell agents under your own name, and Client Management at $499 a month for billing clients and tracking their usage.
What can you build with Chipp?
Chipp Agents are AI assistants trained on your documents, websites, YouTube videos and Google Drive files. They can answer customers, qualify leads, book appointments and draft tickets, and Chipp says a first agent usually goes live in about 30 minutes.
Agents can be published on:
- Your website, including Webflow sites
- Slack, Microsoft Teams and Discord
- WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and TikTok direct messages
- Email and phone, as voice agents
Chipp Factory goes further: you describe a change in plain English and AI agents plan, write, test and deploy the code, with a human approval step wherever you want one. Chipp says it ships 20 to 30 production changes a day across customers.
Is Chipp worth paying for?
It is hard to judge from independent reviews, because none were found: Chipp's G2 profile has no buyer reviews and no Trustpilot or Product Hunt reviews turned up. Chipp itself reports more than 25,000 builders and 125,000 agents, and its case study of Valor Victoria, a US freight firm, claims monthly tech spending fell from almost $400,000 to $82,000 after switching.
At $299 a month, Studio Pro is expensive next to chatbot builders and AI assistants that start at $50 or less, but it includes SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA compliance and zero data retention that rivals often keep for enterprise plans. It makes most sense for a business that needs those controls, or an agency planning to resell agents.
Chipp vs Lindy vs Chatbase: which is better?
Chipp is the broadest and the dearest of the three. Lindy is a personal and team assistant at $29.99 per user a month that records meetings, drafts email and works in Slack. Chatbase focuses on customer support chatbots for a website. Chipp covers customer-facing and internal agents on many channels, voice agents and white-label reselling, and adds a done-for-you build service.
Viktor and Appy.AI are cheaper options for an AI agent in Slack or Teams, both at $50 a month per workspace. Anyone who only needs a support chatbot on one website is likely to pay less elsewhere.
Is Chipp safe for customer and patient data?
Chipp states it is SOC 2 Type II certified, HIPAA compliant and GDPR compliant, with zero data retention so AI model providers don't keep your data, and it publishes a trust centre. These controls are included from Studio Pro rather than reserved for a top tier.
UK organisations should note that Chipp is based in Fargo, North Dakota, and doesn't state a default hosting region. Its FAQ says the White-Label add-on lets you run Chipp in a private cloud in any location, such as the EU, which matters for data residency but adds $999 a month.
How do you get Chipp cheaper?
Chipp lists no annual, student or non-profit discount. Staying on Studio Pro and keeping AI usage under the included $100 is the cheapest way to run it, since usage above that is billed on top. Build For You customers can move down to Studio Pro at any time once their system is built.
