Prescriptions and NHS orders

The pharmacy runs two routes. Private prescriptions involve a short medical assessment for the condition you need treating, and a prescriber must approve the order before it can be dispatched. NHS prescriptions are handled separately, and the site states these are sent free with no delivery charge, which is worth checking against your own situation before you pay for anything.

Choosing a delivery speed

For UK private prescriptions and over-the-counter products, the listed options are Economy, Standard and Next Day delivery, each sent by Royal Mail with a signature required. Orders placed before 15:00 on a working day are dispatched the same day, while later orders and weekend orders go out the next working day. If timing matters, the cut-off time is the detail that counts most.

Before you order

Because a signature is needed for prescription medicines, and an adult aged 18 or over must sign, make sure someone is available at the delivery address. Parcels cannot be left with a neighbour or in a safe place, and the delivery address cannot be changed once dispatch has happened.

Returns and cancellations

Prescription medicines cannot be returned or refunded once dispensed and dispatched. Non-prescription items can be returned within 14 calendar days if unopened, unused and in original packaging. Damaged, wrong or faulty items should be reported within 7 calendar days. Cancellations are only possible before dispatch.
