This is Dex, a personal CRM from a small distributed team that started in San Francisco in 2019. It gathers the people you know from LinkedIn, email, calendars and messaging apps into one contact list, with reminders to keep in touch.
Dex imports people from LinkedIn, Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, WhatsApp, iMessage, Facebook, Instagram, phone contacts and CSV files, then merges duplicates into one record per person.
Set a cadence for each contact, such as weekly, monthly or quarterly, and Dex nudges you when it is time to reach out. Birthdays and custom reminders sit alongside them.
Every meeting, call, email, message and note with a contact appears on a single timeline, and AI sorts note types automatically.
Dex syncs your LinkedIn network, up to 2,500 connections on Premium or 9,000 on Professional, and tells you when a connection changes role.
Before each calendar meeting Dex emails a brief with context on the people you are about to see.
Dex Copilot helps organise your network and draft messages, and you can text Dex by SMS or WhatsApp. An MCP server and ChatGPT app let Claude, ChatGPT and other agents read and update your contacts.
Professional users can send personalised bulk emails to a group of contacts in one go.

“Basically a contacts app on steroids that saves me a tone of time.”
“The only software needed for relationship management.”
“This is a great idea but the mobile app is very very buggy on Android. The website and chrome extension work well.”
Dex describes itself as a modern rolodex. It connects to LinkedIn, Gmail, Outlook, calendars, WhatsApp and other sources, merges the duplicates and builds a private contact database with notes, important dates and a timeline of how you know each person. It also nudges you to get back in touch and flags when a connection changes job.
The company aims it at people whose work depends on relationships: founders, investors, job seekers, consultants, recruiters and MBA students, as well as anyone who wants to remember friends and family better. It is deliberately not a sales CRM, so there are no deals or pipelines. Dex itself points teams that need sales tracking elsewhere.
Dex says it is paid for by subscriptions rather than ads and that it never sells your data. Its security page says data is encrypted in transit and at rest and hosted in the US with certified providers, and that you can export your data or delete your account at any time.
There are Premium, Professional and Team plans, billed monthly, quarterly or annually, with annual billing working out cheapest. Prices are in US dollars. Premium and Professional start with a free trial that asks for a card, and you are not charged until it ends. The higher tiers raise the LinkedIn sync limit and add things like Outlook, mail merge and an API.
Dex lists a discount for students and a longer one for MBA students, claimed with a school email, and offers non-profit discounts on request. Live codes are listed on this page: copy one and enter it at Dex checkout. Switching from monthly to annual billing also lowers the cost.
Dex has a web app, mobile apps, desktop apps and a browser extension, and it connects to AI assistants through an MCP server. It is worth testing on the device you use most during the trial.

CRM for Google Workspace teams that tracks contacts, deals and projects inside Gmail and Google Calendar
A personal CRM is an address book that reminds you to keep in touch and remembers what people told you. Dex is the most complete paid app, Mesh (formerly Clay) has the best free plan, Monica suits anyone who wants to host their own, and your phone's contacts and reminders cover the basics for nothing.
We currently list 1 discount code. Check each offer's terms, country and expiry date before using it. The retailer confirms eligibility at checkout.
Dex advertises a free trial on its Premium and Professional plans rather than a permanent free plan. The trial asks for a card and you are charged only when it ends.
