Shopping with Dorset Hideaways
Choosing the right cottage type
The agency groups its stays around practical needs rather than only location. If you are travelling with a dog, the search tool lets you filter by number of dogs, and the site notes that many cottages are dog-friendly. Families with young children can look for properties with a high chair, travel cot or safety items such as a stair gate, though the individual listing shows what is actually supplied.
Booking and arrival
Being able to book directly is a practical advantage. You can search by village, area or property, choose your dates and party size, then book online or by phone on 01929 445566. Check the property listing for the arrival and departure times, which the FAQ says default to 4pm check-in and 10am check-out unless the listing states otherwise.
Questions to ask before you book
Pets need a little planning. The FAQ says dogs should be kept downstairs and off furniture, and should not be left alone in the property. Bed linen and towels are provided, so you do not need to bring your own. Before you commit, read the cancellation terms in the Terms and Conditions, as they set out how changes are handled.
Getting in touch while you are away
If something goes wrong during your stay, the FAQ advises contacting the person named in your arrival guide first, then the agency. Reviews on the site often mention quick responses, though you should weigh those against your own needs.
