The story
Doulton traces its filters back to 1826, when John Doulton created the first ceramic water filter. The company says Queen Victoria later commissioned a gravity-fed filter for the royal household, and that the work grew from there into water filtration sold in more than a hundred countries. Today the filters are made in Staffordshire, where its technical, customer service and marketing teams are also based.
How it works
The filters pair a natural ceramic shell, which acts a little like a sieve, with an activated carbon core. Doulton says they reduce bacteria, cysts, sediment and other contaminants without chemicals or electricity, while keeping the minerals in the water. It also states that its filters are tested in its own laboratories and independently verified.
The range
Under-sink and countertop systems suit people who want filtered water from a tap. Gravity systems need no plumbing: you fill the top chamber with tap water and let it drain through, which makes them handy for rented flats and student rooms. There is a portable filter bottle for filtered water on the move, and replacement filters for Doulton and British Berkefeld systems.
Saving
Doulton offers a filter subscription that sends replacements every few months and takes a discount off the subscribed filter. You can cancel it at any time, and delivery on subscription orders is included. It is a handy way to avoid forgetting a filter change.
Delivery
Orders placed before the weekday cut-off go out for next working day delivery to the mainland UK, and Northern Ireland takes a little longer. Some areas, such as the Scottish Highlands and Islands, carry a surcharge. The charge appears itemised before you pay.
Returns
If you change your mind, you can return unused items in their original packaging within the legal cancellation period. You pay the return postage, and original delivery charges are not refunded. Sealed products cannot go back once the seal has been broken.

Are there any Doulton discount codes?
We don't currently list a confirmed discount code. That doesn't mean the store has no promotions; check its website for current prices.
Where can I check Doulton's refund policy?
Read the retailer's current policy before buying. Eligibility can depend on the product, its condition and whether it has been used or activated. Returns Policy
Do Doulton gravity filters need plumbing?
No. You fill the top chamber with tap water and the water drains through the ceramic filters, so there is nothing to fit.
How do Doulton ceramic filters work?
Water passes through a ceramic shell that works like a sieve, then an activated carbon core. Doulton says this reduces bacteria, cysts, sediment and other contaminants without chemicals or electricity.
How often do Doulton filters need replacing?
It depends on the filter and how much water you use, so check the product page for your model. The subscription service delivers replacements every few months.
Can I save on Doulton replacement filters?
Yes. Doulton’s filter subscription takes a discount off the subscribed filter and includes delivery. You can cancel it at any time.
Where are Doulton filters made?
In Staffordshire. Doulton says its manufacturing, technical team and customer service all sit in the same region where its story began.
