Dulux

Dulux is a paint brand best known for its colour ranges, one-coat options and washable finishes. Shoppers often start with a colour name, but the surface, room and finish matter more. Choosing the right tin means comparing the product line, sample options and delivery rules before buying enough for the walls.

Dulux: what to know before you buy

Matching the paint to the room

Dulux Easycare is the sturdier option for busy spaces, and the brand says it is twenty times tougher than its standard emulsion. Its stain repellent finish is useful for hallways, kitchens and children's rooms where spills and fingerprints are common. Dulux also sells separate Easycare products for kitchens and bathrooms, so check which version suits the room before you buy.

Testing colours before buying

If you are unsure about a shade, the tester range is the cheapest way to see it in your own light. Dulux sells Colour Testers and Peel and Stick Samples, which let you compare options against the wall. Testers can be ordered on their own or as a bundle, and the brand notes that some tester orders qualify for free delivery.

Choosing a one-coat or quick-drying option

Simply Refresh is aimed at people who want to freshen a room with a single coat, which can save time on smaller projects. Quick Dry water-based paint is designed for woodwork such as skirtings, banisters and door frames. Compare the product description carefully so you know whether it suits walls, woodwork or furniture.

Delivery and returns to check before ordering

Dulux delivery depends on what you order. Standard delivery is charged at a flat rate, with free delivery above a set order value. Full paint cans and accessories cannot be delivered to some UK areas, including several islands and selected Highland postcodes, so check your postcode first. If you need to return an item, the brand lists a return fee, and faulty products are handled differently.
