What Fabric does

Fabric is an AI workspace and cloud drive that keeps your notes, files, bookmarks, meetings and connected apps in one searchable place, with an assistant and scheduled AI agents that work from your own material. It suits creatives, students, freelancers and small teams. Plus costs $10 a month or $8 a month billed yearly, and yearly billing takes up to 25% off; refunds are not offered.

  • A cloud drive that streams files

Fabric mounts as a drive on your computer and streams only what you open, so large files, even video, take almost no local space. The same library is available on web, desktop and mobile.

  • Search by meaning

Finds material across your library and connected apps from a description, searches inside PDFs, slides, video and audio transcripts, and can match images by colour or by a reference picture.

  • AI assistant with memory

Answers questions from your own files with citations, using models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI and open-source labs, and builds a memory of how your material connects over time.

  • Agents and scheduled jobs

Create named AIs that run scheduled tasks such as summarising calls, monitoring competitor prices or researching the web. Each has its own email address you can forward messages and attachments to.

  • Notes, canvas, tasks and meetings

A minimal editor, an infinite canvas, kanban boards, tasks with reminders and a meeting recorder that transcribes and keeps the key points all sit in the same workspace.

  • Client sharing

Publish any space as a polished portal without a login, protect it with a password and see who viewed it and for how long.

  • 50+ integrations

Connects to Google Drive, Dropbox, Notion, Slack, Gmail, Figma, GitHub, HubSpot and more, and can act inside them by sending emails, creating tasks or updating a CRM.

Fabric: what to know before you pay

What is Fabric and who is it for?

Fabric is a personal AI workspace from WFHLAND, Inc. It combines a cloud drive that mounts on your computer, a notes editor, an infinite canvas, bookmarks, tasks and a meeting and voice recorder, then indexes everything so you can search by meaning, colour or a reference image rather than by file name.

An assistant answers questions from your own files with access to models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others, and you can create named AI agents that run scheduled jobs, such as summarising the week's sales calls or checking Reddit for brand mentions. Each agent even gets its own email address. Fabric says more than 300,000 people use it, mainly creatives, students, researchers, marketers and freelancers who share work with clients.

How much does Fabric cost in the UK?

Fabric prices in US dollars on its website, and the pricing page does not mention VAT.

  • Plus: $10 a month, or $8 billed yearly, with 50GB storage and AI meeting and voice notes
  • Pro: $24 a month, or $18 billed yearly, with 250GB, web search, the latest models and password-protected sharing
  • Max: $68 a month, or $54 billed yearly, with 1TB and 45 times the base AI usage
  • Teams: $20 a user a month, or $16 billed yearly, with a 14-day free trial
  • Enterprise: priced on request

The iPhone app lists its plans in pounds, for example Max at £69 a month or £599 a year.

Does Fabric have a free plan?

Fabric's site invites new users to try it for $0, but its current pricing page lists only paid plans for individuals, and only the Teams plan advertises a free trial. Check what the free account includes after signing up before relying on it.

Refunds are not offered: the pricing page says storage and AI processing costs are too high, though you can cancel at any time. That makes monthly billing the safer way to test it.

How does Fabric's AI usage work?

Each plan includes a monthly AI allowance, described as light on Plus, moderate on Pro and heavy on Max, rather than a fixed number of messages. When it runs out you can top up from your account settings, switch on automatic top-ups and set a spending limit.

This is the most common complaint in recent App Store reviews. One reviewer on the highest tier ran out of AI usage within the first week and a half, and others report the assistant giving wrong answers or not completing scheduled tasks. Heavy AI users should watch their usage in the first month.

Fabric vs Superlist and Anara: which is better?

Fabric is the broadest of the three: a drive, notes, canvas and AI search across 50 or more connected apps. Superlist is a focused to-do list for shared tasks and meeting action items, cheaper at $59 a year for Basic, and better if getting tasks done is the goal.

Anara is built for academic research, answering from papers with citations to the exact passage, so it suits literature reviews better than a general second brain. Granola covers meeting notes alone if that is all you need.

Is Fabric safe for private files?

Fabric encrypts data in transit with SSL and at rest with AES-256, says your data is never a black box and lets you export everything at any time. Shared spaces can be password-protected, with link analytics showing who viewed them.

The company is American, its terms are governed by Californian law and include an arbitration clause you can opt out of within 30 days. Several reviewers say the mobile app does not work offline and can log users out, which matters if you rely on it for notes on the move.
