FINDRA: what to know before you buy

The story

FINDRA began in 2012, when founder Alex Feechan stood in a trail-centre shop and thought she could do better. She wanted clothing that helps women feel confident, comfortable and capable outdoors. The name comes from Scandinavian and Gaelic roots, a mythical female spirit that protects forest, land and sea.

The brand is based in the Scottish Borders and is now focused solely on women’s clothing. Its menswear line was discontinued in 2023.

The range

Merino is the heart of it: long sleeve tops, T-shirts, vests, dresses and base layers. Around that sit mid layers, technical fleeces, jackets, trousers, shorts and leggings, then socks, hats, gloves, scarves and little extras such as hot water bottle covers. Pieces are grouped by activity too, so running, cycling, hiking and wild swimming each have their own layering ideas.

Making

FINDRA says it picks manufacturers who share its values, and that a large share of the range is made in Scotland and England, where merino and lambswool knitting skills run deep. The rest comes from partner factories in China, which the brand says are certified for environmental performance and labour conditions.

Delivery

Orders are packed at the brand’s fulfilment centre in the Scottish Borders and sent by Royal Mail tracked and signed services, with an express option. Delivery costs, including any free standard delivery on larger baskets, appear when you continue to shipping. FINDRA also ships to the EU and worldwide, with duties and taxes handled differently depending on the order, so check at checkout. You can collect from the shop in Innerleithen too.

Returns

Unworn, unwashed items in their original packaging can be returned for a refund within the window in FINDRA’s policy. Returns aren’t free: the tracked returns postage is taken from your refund. There are no exchanges, so you place a new order instead. Merino knitwear can also be repaired through the brand’s paid repair service.

Saving

Live codes are listed on this page. Copy one and enter it at checkout. FINDRA also runs a rewards scheme where you collect points on orders and reviews and turn them into money off.
