The product
Granola is a notepad for people in back-to-back meetings. You jot a few notes while it listens through your computer’s audio, and afterwards it blends your notes and the transcript into a tidy summary. Because it uses device audio, it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other meeting apps without inviting a bot. It runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, with an Apple Watch app too.
Who it suits
It is built for anyone who sits through lots of calls and wants to stay present rather than type everything: sales and customer teams, founders, product managers and students. Teams that need recordings kept may prefer a tool that stores audio, as Granola says it does not keep meeting audio. It also transcribes in many languages, though the app’s own menus are in English.
Pricing
Granola has a free Basic plan, a paid Business plan for individuals and small teams, and an Enterprise plan for larger organisations. Basic lets you make notes but shows only recent meeting history, while Business unlocks unlimited history, pre-meeting briefs, follow-up emails and integrations. Prices are shown in US dollars, so what you pay in sterling moves with the exchange rate, and the current figures are on its pricing page.
Saving
Besides any live code on this page, Granola runs programmes for students at accredited universities in the UK, US and Canada, and for early-stage startups. Eligibility rules are on each programme page, and it also lists offers for non-profits. Billing is per active seat, so check the current terms before inviting a team.
Privacy
Granola says it is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and has a UK company, Granola Labs Ltd. It also says notes and transcripts are stored on servers in the United States. Granola also publishes a security page and a transparency page. Check them against your own organisation’s rules before using it for sensitive calls, and tell attendees you are using it.
