italk: what to know before you buy

Check availability before you compare

Italk speeds depend on your postcode, so start by entering your address on the packages page rather than choosing a plan from the headline price. Full Fibre is the fastest tier the site promotes, but it is not guaranteed at every property, and the support page notes that FTTP activation can take up to four weeks.

Understand the contract before you sign

All italk broadband packages are sold on contract. Unless otherwise stated, the contract runs for 18 months, and your welcome pack sets out your package, cost and contract length. Check those details carefully before you accept, because switching early is not a free option.

Think about how you will pay

Italk takes payment by direct debit, and the company explains that it keeps costs low this way. If you think you may struggle to pay on time, contact customer care early to talk through your options, since payment method changes are not offered on these contracts.

Keep your number and equipment in mind

Italk will try to keep your existing landline number, but it tells customers to say so at the point of sale, and some numbers cannot be transferred. Remove any old supplier equipment when you switch, unless customer care tells you otherwise.

Questions about italk

Are there any italk discount codes?

We don't currently list a confirmed discount code. That doesn't mean the store has no promotions; check its website for current prices.

How long does italk take to activate broadband?

The support page says activation can take between two and three weeks, and up to four weeks for FTTP. You will be contacted by email and text with your go-live date.

Can I pay italk by a method other than direct debit?

Italk says all its contracts are set up on a direct debit basis. If you have trouble paying on time, the advice is to contact customer care to discuss your options.
