Plain-English analysis with a chart

AI data analyst and workspace that turns spreadsheets and databases into charts, reports, slide decks and websites
Julius has a free plan. Prices in US dollars as Julius's pricing page showed them on 11 October 2026.
Julius is an AI workspace that analyses spreadsheets and databases in plain English, writing and running Python, SQL or R to produce charts and reports, and can also build slide decks, websites, images and video. It suits analysts, researchers and small teams who don't code. A free plan gives a daily credit allowance; Plus costs $20 a month, or $16 a month billed yearly.
Upload CSV, Excel, PDF, JSON or image files and ask questions in plain English. Julius writes and runs the code, then answers with charts, tables, summaries or reports, and follow-up questions build on the same context.
Every answer comes with the Python, SQL or R that produced it, run in a sandbox isolated per user, so the method behind a figure can be inspected or reused.
Business plans connect to Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Supabase, BigQuery and Snowflake. Julius builds a semantic layer of the schema so it only reads the tables a question needs, and accepts a data dictionary or dbt details for context.
Turns notes, research or an analysis into a slide deck from a gallery of templates, which can then be edited in PowerPoint or Google Slides, or into a shareable report or dashboard.
Builds and publishes websites and interactive tools from a description, and generates images and short videos from text or images in the same workspace.
Teams can train Custom Agents on their own schemas and business definitions, and schedule reports to run automatically, unlimited on the Business plan.
SOC 2 Type II and TX-RAMP certified, with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access and a promise that customer data is never used to train models.

Prices in US dollars; the page does not mention VAT or a student discount. Yearly billing saves about 17 to 20%. Unused value on a downgrade is credited, not refunded. Prices in US dollars, from Julius's pricing page on 11 October 2026. Julius may charge VAT on top, and prices can change.
“the code execution and data analytics capabilities are best in class not to mention the wider choice of models available”
“The daily 100 credits are nowhere near enough for even basic data analysis queries anymore.”
“A data analyst at my fingertips”
Julius is an AI assistant for data analysis that has grown into a general workspace for knowledge work. You upload a CSV, Excel file, PDF or JSON, or connect a database, then ask questions in plain English. Julius writes the code, runs it in an isolated sandbox and returns charts, tables and summaries, with the code shown so you can check how it got there.
It suits analysts, marketers, finance and operations teams, students and researchers who need answers from data without writing Python or SQL. The same chat can now turn the results into a slide deck that opens in PowerPoint or Google Slides, a published website, images or video.
Julius prices its plans in US dollars on its website, so a UK card is charged the sterling equivalent. The iPhone app sells subscriptions in pounds through Apple.
The pricing page does not mention VAT or a student discount.
Every request uses credits, and the cost depends on the model and how much work the task takes. Paid plans add a monthly allowance plus credits that refresh daily.
This is the most common complaint in recent reviews. Trustpilot reviewers who switched from the older message-based plans report single analyses using hundreds or thousands of credits, unused credits not carrying over, and purchased credits lost after cancelling. Anyone planning heavy use should start on monthly billing and watch how quickly a typical job drains the balance before committing to a year.
Julius holds SOC 2 Type II and TX-RAMP certification and says customer data is never used to train AI models, a promise its model providers are contractually bound by. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and each user's code runs in its own sandbox.
All data is stored and processed in the United States, and there is no UK or EU hosting option. Organisations with strict UK GDPR or data residency rules should check the trust centre and the data processing terms before uploading personal data.
Julius is the strongest fit when the job starts with numbers: spreadsheets, statistics and database queries, with the code visible. Anara is built for academic research, answering from papers with citations to the exact passage, so it suits literature reviews better than number crunching.
Runable is a general AI agent that also produces slides, reports and websites, and leans more towards tasks than data analysis. For a mix of chat models in one subscription, AI Fiesta is a cheaper route, but it does not run code against your files the way Julius does.
Yearly billing is the main saving Julius offers: it takes Plus from $20 to $16 a month and Pro from $45 to $37, about 17 to 20% off. The free plan's daily allowance is enough to test whether Julius handles your own data before paying.
Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period and any unused value is credited to the next invoice rather than refunded. Julius does not list a student, education or non-profit discount on its pricing page.

Yes. The free plan gives a daily credit allowance and can analyse files and create presentations, reports, websites, images and video. Paid plans add a monthly credit allowance, frontier models and exports.
Cancel from the Subscription page under Invoices and Payment Methods; the plan stays active until the end of the billing period. The help docs say eligible accounts can end the subscription immediately and receive a refund, but several Trustpilot reviewers report refunds being refused.
Julius accepts CSV, Excel (including multi-tab workbooks), PDF, JSON and images. There is no fixed row limit, though the practical ceiling is what fits in the sandbox's 32GB of memory; larger data can be queried directly in BigQuery or another warehouse.
No. Julius states that customer data is never used to train models, internally or externally, and that its AI providers are contractually bound by the same rule. Deleted data is erased from its servers.
Julius runs in the browser and has an iPhone and iPad app called Julius AI: Data & Math Helper, which needs iOS 15.1 or later. There is no Android app on Google Play.
Plus, Pro and Max include one seat each. The Business plan adds a team workspace for up to 50 members with shared database connectors, unlimited Custom Agents and scheduled reports; larger organisations go on Enterprise.
