Shopping with Lakeland
What Lakeland is good for
Lakeland is the shop for the kitchen drawer and the utility cupboard: pots and pans, baking tins, roasting trays, food storage, vacuum bags, oven cleaners, heated airers and small appliances such as soup makers and bread makers. It stocks big brands such as OXO and its own-label ranges, and from autumn the site fills up with Christmas trees, decorations, food hampers and advent calendars.
My honest take: Lakeland rarely wins on the cheapest headline price, but it wins on after-sales. The three-year guarantee means that if you are not satisfied or something is faulty, you can return it for a refund or replacement for up to three years with your receipt or order email. That matters most on appliances.
Where the savings are
- **Price reductions:** the site has a price-reduction filter on its main categories, so you can narrow cooking, baking, cleaning and electricals to just the items currently marked down.
- **myLakeland sign-up:** joining gets you 10 percent off a £30 order online, valid for seven days from registering. It is for full-price items only, cannot be combined with other offers, and excludes Sage, Delonghi, Nespresso, Gozney, Shark and Ninja, gas cylinder refills and gift cards.
- **Seasonal collections:** short-run offers, for example on cleaning electricals and food storage, change with the season, so check the dates.
Delivery
Standard UK delivery is free over £60 and £4.50 below that, and takes two to seven business days. Express is £6.95 for every order and takes one to two business days. Click & Collect is free. An Evri ParcelShop option is free over £60 and £3.95 below it. An age-check delivery service is £5 and requires a PIN on the day.
Returns
Returns to a store or through your delivery courier are free. If your order came by Evri you can arrange a free collection or drop it at a ParcelShop. Heated textiles, blankets and bedding can only be returned unopened or faulty, because of the tamper-proof packaging.
