Choosing between books, illustrations and pots

The range splits into three broad routes. Personalised children's books suit babies and young children, while illustrations such as watercolour house sketches, couple portraits and pet portraits suit anniversaries, weddings and family keepsakes. Engraved plant pots work well as lower-commitment gifts for birthdays and anniversaries. Think about who will receive the gift and whether they will display it or read it.

Allow time for proofing

Every product is custom-made. Orders are processed within two to four business days, excluding weekends, and the page for each item gives the current delivery time. Illustration products include a proof that you must approve before production starts, so a slow reply can delay your order. Set aside time for this if you have a fixed date such as a birthday or wedding.

Know what a refund covers

Personalised goods are non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or faulty. Report damage within 48 hours of receipt by emailing photos to support@letterfest.com. Letterfest says it will usually amend or replace an item where possible, so contact the team first if something goes wrong.

Expect natural variation

Handmade and natural-stone products differ slightly. Engraved pebbles vary in size, colour and shape, and small white marks can appear during production or transit that can be wiped away with a damp cloth. These are described as natural features rather than faults, so buy with that in mind if you want identical finishes.
