The story
Lightsin was founded in 2018 around a simple idea: lighting should do more than light a room, it should add warmth and personality. The shop puts its emphasis on craftsmanship and natural materials, and says its pieces are made by skilled artisans using traditional techniques rather than in the uniform way of mass production.
The range
Pendants and chandeliers are the heart of it, from woven natural-fibre shades to metal and crystal designs. There are also table and floor lamps in ceramic, rattan and stained-glass Tiffany styles, plus ceiling lights and ceiling fans. You can browse by room, such as living room, kitchen island, dining room and bedroom, or by material and style.
The making
The shop says it works with natural, renewable materials such as seagrass, bamboo and rattan. Its own description of a rattan shade is that the material is soaked, cleaned and dried, then hand-woven and finished with a protective coating. It also says it buys from the source with no middleman.
Delivery
Two kinds of delivery are described. In-stock pieces ship quickly. Pre-order pieces are handcrafted to order, so they take longer to arrive, and some come at a lower price in exchange for the wait. Orders go with carriers including UPS, Yodel, Parcelforce, DPD, FedEx and DHL. Some areas, such as the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man, can carry a surcharge, and it doesn't deliver to Jersey.
Saving
Pre-order items are the shop's route to lower prices. Any live code is listed on this page: copy it and enter it at checkout. Free gifts from promotions have to be sent back if you return the order for a change of mind.
Returns
Contact the shop first and it will review your request. If approved, it sends a return label and instructions, and items sent back without a request are refused. Items need to be unused, uninstalled and in their original packaging. Products also carry a warranty covering material and workmanship defects.
