Lily Charmed: what to know before you buy
The story
Lily Charmed began at the kitchen table in 2011. Lucy Lee left a career in television to find a better work and family balance, and found that the storytelling skills she had used there carried over to jewellery. It is still an independent family business, run by Lucy and her husband Jon, and Lucy has designed new charms for it ever since.
The range
Charms are the centrepiece, sorted by themes such as travel, food and drink, hobbies and sport, birthdays, birthstones, zodiac and good luck. There are charm bracelets, necklaces and carrier necklaces to wear them on, as well as earrings and rings. The idea is to build a piece over time that marks your own milestones, interests and people.
The metals
The shop says its silver is 925 sterling, with the charms cast from recycled silver and rhodium plated to resist tarnishing. Gold pieces are 18 carat gold plated sterling silver. Silver over the legal weight is hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office, and the metals have passed AnchorCert Protect testing, which the shop says makes an allergic reaction extremely unlikely.
Delivery
UK orders go by Royal Mail tracked services, with next-day options if you order in time. Delivery is free on UK orders over a set amount shown at checkout. The shop also ships to many countries abroad. International orders may carry import taxes and duties, which are collected at checkout. Everything arrives in a gift box, and a gift bag can be added.
