The story
LSA was co-founded in London in the 1960s by Janusz Lubkowski, and its first product was an enamelled coffee pot sold at Habitat in 1966. It is still a family business: his daughter, Monika Lubkowska-Jonas, is its designer and creative director. The company says its approach is thoughtful, considered design that suits the way people live.
The range
The shop is built around glassware for the bar and table: wine, champagne, martini, cocktail, whisky, beer and shot glasses. Alongside those sit decanters and carafes, cake stands and domes, and vases. The studio also works in porcelain and wood, so you will find mugs, teapots and serving boards as well.
The craft
Most of the glass is mouth-blown, with glassblowers working in teams, each responsible for one stage of the process. Finishing is done by hand while the glass is still hot, such as scissor-cutting a thick, rounded rim. LSA designs everything in-house and says every piece is made in Europe by partners it has worked with for decades. Its wood is FSC-certified.
Sustainability
LSA says it designs lasting pieces to encourage buying less and owning for longer. Glass is endlessly recyclable, and its Canopy collection, made with the Eden Project, uses recycled glass.
Delivery
LSA sends orders from the UK, with next-day delivery for orders placed before the weekday cut-off and a free-delivery threshold shown at checkout. It delivers to the UK and the United States, not yet to Europe.
Returns
Returns are free and straightforward: send the item back within 28 days of receipt for a refund to your original payment method. UK customers can generate a prepaid label and drop the parcel at a Collect+ point. Items from the Channel Islands can be returned, but at your own cost.
Care
Most glass is handmade, so wash it gently in warm soapy water. Some pieces are tested as dishwasher safe, and the product page says which.
