Luke Roper: what to know before you buy

The story

LUKE 1977 began in 2001 when designer Luke Roper, who had studied at Central Saint Martins, teamed up with fashion professional Simon Poole and his wife Deborah to launch a menswear label. The name nods to Luke’s birth year in the West Midlands. Independent retailers across the UK soon began stocking it, and in 2004 it opened its first standalone stores, in Bristol and Cardiff. The brand says it is still independently owned and still based in the Midlands.

The range

The Mainline collection is the backbone: polos, sweatshirts, T-shirts, lightweight jackets, overshirts, denim and tracksuits. Terrace Division is a matchday-inspired line of track tops, polos and jackets built for stadium steps and city streets. LUKE Junior covers boys’ clothing for a wide age range, and extended sizes go well beyond the usual. Accessories and socks fill out the shop.

Delivery

UK orders go out by standard courier, or by a faster express option, with a free-delivery threshold shown in the basket. The warehouse doesn’t run on weekends or bank holidays, so orders placed then are processed once it reopens. Orders can’t be cancelled or amended after payment, and tracking arrives by email once your parcel ships. The brand also delivers to Europe, North America and Australasia.

Saving

Students, young people and apprentices, and key workers can claim discounts through the brand’s verification partners. Any live code is listed on this page: copy it and enter it at checkout.

Returns

You have a set window from the date you order to send items back. Refunds are issued as soon as you request them, but returns carry a fee per order. Exchanges are free for UK customers. Items must be unworn and in their original packaging with tags, and underwear, fragrance and aerosols can’t be returned. Multipacks and bundles go back in full, and any free gift must come back with a refund request.

Stores

LUKE also runs its own shops around the UK, with a store finder on the site. Online orders must be returned through the online portal rather than in store.
