Shopping with My 1st Years

Pick something for the child, then personalise it

The range includes soft toys, hooded towels, dressing gowns, backpacks and wooden toys. A blanket or towel is a practical starting point for a new baby; a backpack or age-appropriate toy may suit an older child better. Check the individual product's age guidance, dimensions and care instructions rather than choosing on the photograph alone.

Personalisation methods vary by item. My 1st Years uses techniques including embroidery, printing and engraving, so look at how the name will appear on your chosen material. Read the preview carefully, including capital letters, dates and any character limit.

Get the gift details right

You can add a personal message at the basket. The retailer's FAQ says UK gift parcels do not include an invoice or price, which is useful when sending directly to the recipient. Check the product's packaging details if the presentation box is part of your decision.

If you spot an order mistake, contact the amendments team promptly. The FAQ asks for changes within 30 minutes and says later amendments cannot be guaranteed once production has started.

Choose delivery against the occasion

The delivery page lists standard UK delivery at £4.49, free over £65, with an estimate of five working days. Next-working-day delivery starts at £7.99 and is subject to availability. Its delivery page and FAQ give different cutoff times, so use the actual delivery date offered at checkout when ordering for a birthday or visit.

Personalisation changes the returns decision

Do not order several personalised alternatives expecting to send the extras back. The FAQ says personalised goods cannot normally be exchanged or refunded unless the retailer is at fault. Contact support with the order number and photographs if an item is damaged, faulty or incorrectly personalised.
