Patrol Store: what to know before you buy

The story

PatrolStore.com launched in 2007 offering kit, clothing and equipment to people in the police, military and security industries. The team draws on its own experience as former police officers, military personnel and private security operators, and says that shaped a specialist range.

The range

Boots are a big part of it, from patrol and police boots to safety, waterproof, lightweight and women's styles. Beyond footwear you will find belts and pouches, torches, first aid kits, handcuffs and holders, bags and cases, and tactical clothing such as jackets, trousers, gloves and base layers. It stocks well-known brands alongside its own picks, so you can shop by brand or by category, and there is care kit such as insoles, polish and laces to keep boots in shape.

Who it suits

Mostly individuals working in uniformed roles, though it also serves team leaders, budget holders and government contracts. If an item isn't listed, the team says it can source it from around the world, and a separate bulk sales team handles orders for departments and forces.

Delivery

Orders ship within the UK by Royal Mail, with a tracked standard service and a faster tracked express option. Orders placed before midday on a weekday are dispatched the same day. Weekday delivery only applies, and some areas outside the mainland take longer. Charges depend on your basket and are shown at checkout, and the site promises a refund of postage if a parcel doesn't arrive in the stated time.

Returns

If you're not happy, send items back within the return period, which is longer for BFPO addresses, or claim under warranty if faulty. Items need to be clean, tried on indoors and still tagged. Returns are not free, and using the prepaid label means a charge comes off your refund.

Saving

The site offers a welcome discount for newsletter sign-ups and a price-match guarantee. Any live code on this page can be entered at checkout.
