What does PlayStation Store sell?
PlayStation Store sells digital games, add-ons and subscriptions for PS5 and PS4, PlayStation Plus among them. It runs on the consoles, on the web and in the PlayStation App, and what you buy belongs to the PlayStation account that bought it rather than to a disc. It doesn't sell consoles or controllers.
How do you pay on PlayStation Store?
A purchase comes out of the account's wallet first, and a card or other payment method on the account covers any shortfall. The wallet can be topped up with a bank card or with a PlayStation Store gift card, a code that adds its value to the wallet. UK cards work only on accounts registered in the UK, and money added to the wallet can't be refunded, so it pays to top up for something you mean to buy. The guide to cheap PlayStation gift cards explains which card values UK game shops sell for less than they hold.
Can you get a refund from PlayStation Store?
A game or add-on can be cancelled within 14 days of buying it, as long as it hasn't started downloading or streaming; after that, Sony refunds it only if it's faulty. A pre-order can be cancelled for a refund while none of it has downloaded, and automatic downloads can start one without anyone pressing a button, so turning them off in the console's settings keeps that option open. A subscription can be cancelled within 14 days of the first payment, with the refund reduced for the time already used. A wallet top-up can't be cancelled.
How does PlayStation Plus work?
PlayStation Plus is Sony's subscription for online multiplayer, monthly games and cloud storage, sold in Essential, Extra and Premium tiers. Extra and Premium add a catalogue of games to play while the membership lasts. It renews automatically until it's cancelled, and a renewal takes the wallet balance first, so credit bought for less than it holds pays for PS Plus too. How to pay less for PS Plus compares that with buying a membership code.
Where else can you buy PlayStation credit and games?
UK game shops such as ShopTo sell PSN gift cards, PS Plus codes and PlayStation games, some for less than PlayStation Store's own price. The lists on this page show which of them cost less at the UK shops compared here, and each one opens a page comparing every shop's price for it.

No. UK PlayStation Store gift cards work only on PlayStation accounts registered in the UK, so check the account's country before buying a card.
