How much does Postiz cost in the UK?
Postiz Cloud costs $29 a month for 5 channels, $39 for 10, $49 for 30 and $99 for 100, billed in US dollars. Paying yearly cuts those to $23, $31, $39 and $79 a month, a saving Postiz puts at about 20%.
Every plan has unlimited posts, the API, webhooks, the MCP server, analytics and the AI copilot. What changes is the channel count, team access and the AI allowance: Standard has no team members, while Team and above allow unlimited team members and add AI images, more AI videos and more minutes of AI video clipping. There is no free hosted plan, only a 7-day trial. The pricing page doesn't mention VAT, and subscriptions are sold by Gitroom Limited, a Hong Kong company, which also handles refunds and tax invoices according to the terms.
Is Postiz free if you host it yourself?
Yes. The open-source edition on GitHub is free under the AGPL-3.0 licence, and Postiz says it doesn't hold features back from it.
The catch is the work involved. Self-hosting means running Postiz with Docker or on a VPS and setting up Postgres, Redis, storage and environment variables yourself. You also have to create your own developer apps on each social network and pass their approval, which the Postiz README warns can take weeks for Meta, YouTube and TikTok. Postiz Cloud skips all of that with pre-approved apps. For a developer comfortable with servers, the free edition can replace a paid scheduler; for most small businesses the hosted plan is the realistic option.
Postiz vs Buffer: which is better?
Postiz usually costs less once you manage many accounts, while Buffer is the safer pick for someone who wants a free plan, mobile apps and a long track record.
The pricing models differ. Buffer charges per channel, so 10 channels on Buffer's Team plan cost $120 a month billed monthly, against $39 for 10 channels with unlimited team members on Postiz's Team plan. For one to three accounts, Buffer's free plan beats Postiz, which has no free hosted tier. Postiz also covers networks Buffer doesn't, including Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Slack, Dribbble and WordPress. Buffer has far more reviews behind it (126 on Trustpilot against 11 for Postiz) and apps for iPhone and Android. Zernio is the other option to weigh, aimed at developers posting through an API.
Can AI agents post to social media with Postiz?
Yes, and it is the main thing Postiz builds around. Every plan includes a hosted MCP server, a command-line tool and a public API, so agents such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and Gemini can create and schedule posts.
Postiz says posts an agent creates land in your calendar first, so a person can review, edit or reschedule them before anything goes live. The Smart Agent inside the app does the same through a chat window. There are also n8n and Make integrations for people who automate without code. A Trustpilot reviewer on the top plan reported their agent couldn't post, so automations are worth testing during the trial.
Is Postiz safe to use for client accounts?
Postiz connects to social networks through official developer apps held by Gitroom LLC, its US company, so you authorise each account rather than sharing passwords.
Its privacy policy says Postiz operates from Hong Kong and the United States and uses sub-processors in the US, the EU, the UK and elsewhere, with UK GDPR legal bases set out for each use of data. Agencies with strict data rules can self-host the open-source edition instead, which keeps content on their own servers.
