Trios of sprays or roll-ons cost £20.22, against £22.47 for three bought singly. The sprays, roll-ons, sticks and balms are made at the company's factory in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, and it says they are certified COSMOS Natural by the Soil Association, registered with The Vegan Society and approved by Cruelty Free International. The crystal range is made in China and sits outside that certification. The company says its deodorants suit children aged six and over, and it has a kids' collection.

Does Salt of the Earth deodorant contain aluminium? The sprays, roll-ons and crystals contain potassium alum, a mineral salt that includes aluminium, while the sticks and balms are made without it. The company notes that potassium alum is not aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium chloride, the compounds antiperspirants use to reduce sweating, so its products are deodorants that tackle odour rather than sweat. Every format comes in an unscented version.

How do refills save money? Refills hold the same formula as the original bottle in larger pouches and bottles, so each fill costs less than a new deodorant. New newsletter subscribers get 10% off a first order instead.

How much is delivery? UK delivery is free on orders over £25 by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which the company says takes two to three working days after dispatch.
