The story
Vision Direct says it was founded in 2004 by a group of passionate opticians. It launched its own affordable lens brand, everclear, in 2013 and joined Essilor in 2016. It describes itself as Europe’s largest eye care destination, which is its own claim, and it now sells to customers in several European countries. Its UK teams are based in London, Manchester and York.
The range
Contact lenses are the core, from brands such as Acuvue, Air Optix, Biofinity, Clariti, Dailies, Miru, Precision, Proclear, SofLens and Total, alongside everclear. You can shop by wear pattern, with daily, two-weekly, monthly and extended-wear lenses, or by type, including toric for astigmatism, multifocal, coloured and silicone hydrogel. It also stocks eye drops, dry eye treatments, lid care and lens solutions.
Prescriptions
Vision Direct says it does not verify your prescription at ordering, which is part of how it offers quick delivery. You still need a valid prescription, and it trusts you to enter the right brand, power and base curve. If you would like the team to check your details, it will do so.
Delivery
Orders placed before the evening cut-off go out for next-day delivery on in-stock items, seven days a week. The site says it ships most orders the same day and uses letterbox-friendly packaging where it can. A few island and remote postcodes take longer. Returns
Vision Direct offers a long return guarantee: unopened lenses in their original condition can go back if you change your mind or your prescription changes, for a refund to the payment method used. UK returns are free according to its returns page. Defective products are refunded.

For UK orders, the dispensing service is supplied by Vision Dispensing Ltd, registered in England (company number 03912575). Vision Direct was founded in 2004, joined Essilor in 2016 and has warehouses in York and Spain. It takes credit and debit cards and PayPal. Unopened lenses in their original packaging can be returned within 365 days for a refund, and UK returns are free.

How much is Vision Direct delivery?

A few postcodes take longer: GY, HS and JE add 2 days and IM adds 1 day. Orders aren't split, so it ships once every item is ready.

Does Vision Direct do a student discount?
Our answerYes. Vision Direct gives students a discount through Student Beans: verify your student status with Student Beans, which is free, then apply the discount at checkout. Its student page says new customers get 15% off and existing customers 6% off, across its full range of contact lenses, including daily, two-weekly, monthly and coloured lenses. It can't be combined with other discounts, and only one can be used per order.
