The shared inbox and channel connections

AI customer service agent for web chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and phone, with a shared inbox for human handover
Watermelon has a free plan. Prices in euros as Watermelon's pricing page showed them on 11 October 2026.
Watermelon is a Dutch AI customer service platform: an AI agent trained on a business's website and files answers customers on web chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and, in beta, the phone, with a shared inbox for human handover. It suits small and mid-sized support teams. A free plan includes 50 conversations a month; paid plans start at €99 a month, or €84 a month billed yearly.
The agent learns from a crawled website (with JavaScript rendering), uploaded PDF, Word and text files, and a product feed. Instructions and guardrails set its tone and keep it on topic, and a playground tests it before it goes live.
The same agent answers on a website chat widget, email, WhatsApp, Instagram DM and Facebook Messenger, and a custom channel can be built through the API. The widget works on Shopify, WordPress, Lightspeed and other site builders.
Actions let the agent call a business's own APIs during a conversation, for example to look up an order, change an address or book an appointment. Templates exist for Shopify, WooCommerce, Lightspeed, Sendcloud, Picqer and others.
All conversations land in one inbox where the team can follow the agent, take over at any point and assign chats to colleagues or teams. Handover triggers pass a conversation to a person with its full history.
The agent can answer calls on a dedicated number generated through Seamly or Twilio, or on a forwarded business number. Calls can be recorded, and each one is saved with a transcript and summary; calls last up to 15 minutes by default, or 60 at most.
Reports show how many conversations the agent automated, handovers and customer satisfaction, and conversations are tagged by topic. Advanced analytics come with the Advanced plan.
On Shopify the chat widget can show a product recommendation carousel, past orders and an address change form, alongside a pre-chat form, conversation starters and over 50 design options.

Prices in euros and exclude VAT (Watermelon's terms). Yearly billing saves 15%. Extra agents, users or 250 conversations cost €25 a month each. Test messages count as conversations. No refunds for unused time. Prices in euros, from Watermelon's pricing page on 11 October 2026. Watermelon may charge VAT on top, and prices can change.
For a business that answers the same questions every day across chat, email and WhatsApp, the Starter plan is usually worth testing: it puts one AI agent on every channel and hands harder conversations to a person in a shared inbox. For a site with only a handful of enquiries a month, the free plan may be all that's needed.
The agent learns from a website crawl, uploaded PDFs and Word files, and a product feed, and answers in over 100 languages. Actions let it fetch live data, such as an order's status, or hand over to a human. Reviewers on G2 most often praise how easy it is to use, the range of ways to train the agent and how quickly support replies. The usual complaints are that set-up takes time and know-how, that the bot sometimes gives a wrong answer or none at all, and that re-crawling a website to refresh its knowledge is slow.
Watermelon prices in euros only: Starter is €99 a month (€84 billed yearly), Advanced €199 (€169), and Business €399 (€339). Enterprise is priced on request.
Watermelon's terms say all prices exclude VAT and invoices are issued in euros, so a UK card is charged in euros and the sterling cost depends on the exchange rate and any card fees. Each plan includes one AI agent, one user and a monthly allowance of conversations: 250 on Starter, 500 on Advanced and 1,000 on Business. Extra agents, extra users and blocks of 250 conversations each cost €25 a month. A conversation is every message with one visitor inside a 96-hour window, and test messages count towards the allowance. When the allowance runs out, the agent pauses until the next renewal unless the plan is upgraded or topped up.
Watermelon suits teams that want the AI agent and a shared human inbox in one place, with WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and email included from the Starter plan and EU hosting by default. Chatbase is the better-known chatbot builder and is often chosen by teams that mainly want a website agent.
Other options in the same space include Weav, which builds support agents from help documentation, Heyy, which centres on WhatsApp and Instagram messaging, and Maple, which answers phone calls and takes orders for restaurants. Watermelon's own phone agent is still marked as beta.
Watermelon states that it complies with GDPR, is ISO 27001 certified and encrypts data in transit and at rest. It says customer data is never used to train AI models and that it doesn't take part in OpenAI's or Google's data sharing programmes.
The platform runs on Google Cloud in Europe (europe-west1), with MongoDB and Pinecone as further subprocessors, and encryption keys are managed in Europe. Watermelon B.V. is based in Utrecht and its contracts fall under Dutch law. A trust centre, subprocessor list and data processing agreement are published for procurement checks, and compliance features such as GDPR deletion and exports sit on the Business plan.
Yearly billing takes 15% off every paid plan, which the billing help page describes as two months free. That brings Starter from €99 to €84 a month.
No student, start-up or non-profit discount is listed, and Watermelon doesn't give refunds for unused time.

We don't currently list a confirmed discount code. That doesn't mean the store has no promotions; check its website for current prices.
The free plan includes 50 conversations a month, one AI agent that can be built and tested in over 100 languages, website scraping and file upload, the website widget with live chat, and the agent inbox. WhatsApp, email, Instagram and Messenger need the Starter plan.
The pricing page says plans can be changed or cancelled at any time with no notice period, taking effect on the next renewal date; the help centre asks customers to cancel by emailing support. Watermelon has a strict no-refund policy for unused time or late cancellations.
A conversation is every message exchanged between one visitor and the AI agent within a 96-hour window. Messages sent while testing the agent also count, and the allowance renews each month on the subscription date.
Watermelon runs in the browser and has desktop apps for Mac and Windows and an app for iPhone and iPad. The help centre states there is currently no Android app.
Paid plans are charged upfront in euros by card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA direct debit, iDEAL or Bancontact, with an invoice emailed after each payment. Upgrades mid-period are charged at once with a prorated credit.
Yes, the AI phone agent is in beta. It gets its own number through Seamly or Twilio, or an existing number can be forwarded to it, and every call is saved with a transcript and summary. The pricing page doesn't list a separate phone price.
