One email, one code
Pick an eligibility group on the verification page and enter a qualifying email address — for example your nhs.net address. We email you a one-time code; enter it and you're verified. That's it: no uploads, no paperwork.
What we actually store
This is the important part. We never store your verification email in a form we can read back. Instead we keep a one-way keyed hash of it. We can recognise the same address again, but we can't reverse the hash to recover the address. Each verification also writes a tamper-evident audit record that contains only digests — never a document or an image.
Special-category groups
For groups tied to sensitive information (like health-service status), we ask for explicit consent before any verification happens, as UK GDPR Article 9 requires. You're always in control.
