Start with your exact printer model

Brand names only get you part of the way. Many printers from the same manufacturer use different cartridge families, so the model number or the cartridge reference printed on your old cartridge tells you far more. Searching by that reference is the surest way to avoid ordering something that will not fit.

Check the colours you actually need

A single black cartridge and a full colour set serve very different jobs. If you mostly print text documents, a black-only order keeps the cost down. If you print photos or coloured graphics, you will need the full set, so look at the pack contents before you add anything to the basket.

Think about how often you print

If you print only occasionally, buying one or two cartridges at a time keeps stock fresh, which matters because ink can dry out in unused cartridges. Heavier home or office use may justify a larger pack, but only if you will use it within a sensible period.

Confirm compatibility before you order

Check the listing against your printer model, not just the brand. If the listing does not clearly state the models it suits, it is worth comparing the cartridge reference against your printer manual before you buy.
