What I'd check first

Motoring spend is mostly stuff you have to buy, not stuff you want to, so I treat every code here as a way to make a grudge purchase hurt a bit less.

With tyres, always compare the fully fitted price, not the tyre on its own. Fitting, balancing, valves and disposal can add a surprising amount at a garage counter, and the online shops that include them up front are usually the easier deal.

For parts, check the part number against your registration before you use a code. A cheap part that doesn’t fit costs you a return and a weekend.
