Shopping with Craft Company

Start from the finished cake

The range is broad, so it helps to plan from the cake you want to end up with. For tiered or heavy cakes, a sturdy board matters as much as the decoration. The company's own guidance suggests a board about two inches larger than the cake, a useful starting point when you are working from a recipe or template.

Match the paste to the job

Modelling paste holds its shape well for figures and detailed pieces, while sugar paste is simpler for covering a whole cake. Choosing the right paste for the task saves wasted batches and frustration.

Think about transport

If a cake has to travel, the sturdier cake boxes and drums are the more practical purchase than decorative packaging. Ready-made cakes are treated differently from supplies, so check the returns page before ordering anything perishable.

Check delivery before you order

Mainland GB orders follow the standard delivery rules, but Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and some Scottish Highlands and Islands postcodes have separate charges and a weight limit per order. Check your postcode before paying.
