Shopping with Skoup
Choosing between Van It, Skip It and Bag It
The three services suit different jobs. Van It is the most flexible option when you have a mix of items such as furniture, garden waste and general rubbish, and it can take bulky household goods like sofas or mattresses in one trip. Charges are based on the volume filled in the van, with weight limits for each size, so a sofa plus a few bags may be cheaper than you expect. Skip It makes more sense for a project that will take longer than a day, since the skip stays on your drive while you fill it. Bag It suits smaller clear-outs where a few sacks are enough.
Items that need a different route
Not everything can go through these services. Hazardous or clinical waste, sharps, paint tins, pressurised containers, weapons or explosives, microwaves and lithium ion batteries are items Skoup cannot collect. Some items, including mattresses, tyres and small household electricals, carry an additional disposal fee on the van service. Check the list before booking so you are not caught out on collection day.
Preparing for collection
All items need to be outside the property and ready before your time slot. Bag small items and general rubbish, but leave large or bulky items unbagged. Furniture should be broken down as far as possible so the crew can carry it safely to the van. A driver needs safe access near the property that does not block the road, and any parking permits must be arranged before they arrive.
Timing and changes
You can book van collections up to three months in advance, and same day collections must be booked before 12pm. Changes need at least 24 hours' notice, and cancelling without charge also requires a call at least 24 hours before collection begins. If a driver cannot complete the job, there is no fee for rebooking.
