Shopping with Ecotalk
Choosing between the plans
Ecotalk sells SIM-only plans, so the decision comes down to how much data you use. The sourced plan descriptions show allowances from a 10GB bundle up to unlimited data, with unlimited UK calls and texts on the mainstream tiers. If you mostly use Wi-Fi at home and work, the lower bundles are the sensible starting point. If you stream video on the move, look at the higher tiers before you commit.
Checking coverage before you switch
Ecotalk states that it is carried on Britain's best mobile network and points customers to a coverage checker. Enter your postcode and device to see 5G, 4G and 2G coverage at your address. This matters more than headline prices, because a cheap plan on a weak signal is poor value.
Contracts, switching and number transfer
All plans are on 30-day rolling contracts, and the company says there is no charge for switching away. Keeping your existing number needs a PAC code from your current provider, and the transfer typically completes within a working day when you activate your SIM before the cut-off. Ecotalk does not transfer numbers at weekends or on bank holidays, so plan the switch for a weekday.
Data top-ups and roaming
If you use up your monthly data, you can buy one-off add-ons, which the FAQs list as 1GB, 3GB and 10GB options. Data is not available when roaming outside the EU, so check the price guide for calls and texts if you travel further afield.
