Currants, raisins and sultanas are folded through a dark, richly spiced pudding with Bramley apple, mixed peel, crystallised ginger and nibbed walnuts, all laced with brandy. Orange and lemon juice lift the fruit, while cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and sweet mixed spices build the deep, traditional flavour that comes from long, slow steaming. Baked by Meg Rivers artisan bakery in the Cotswolds, the 800g pudding arrives in its own basin with heating instructions, ready to steam, turn out and serve warm with brandy butter, cream or custard.
