BEFORE YOU BUY

What I'd check first

For gigs and festivals, I want the official seller. Live Nation and See Tickets sell for a huge number of UK tours and venues, and regional sellers like Headfirst are often the only place to get tickets for smaller shows in their city. The artist's or venue's own site will tell you which one it is.

The cheapest ticket is almost always the earliest one. Tiered releases mean the price goes up as each allocation sells out, so if you know you're going, early bird is the move. Sign up for the artist or promoter pre-sale if one exists.

At checkout, look at the fees and ticket delivery. Mobile tickets tied to an app can make transfers awkward, which matters if you're buying for a group.
