About it

From Lovetovisit's listing

York's chocolate-scented streets await Glance in any direction when you’re in York, and it becomes clear you’re in one of the most stunning cities in the UK. Cobbled streets wind their way between gothic buildings that reach up high into the sky – leaving you to gaze in awe wherever your wandering feet take you. But sooner or later, the intoxicating aroma of cocoa mixed with sweet sugar begin to fill your nostrils. Your feet take on a life of their own as they pull you towards that smell. Until eventually, the caramel-inspired waves covering the floor of York’s Chocolate Story welcome you to the home of one of the UK’s most beloved treats. The bean to bar journey On a guided tour, you’ll get the chance to learn all about York’s famous chocolate history before getting your hands on plenty of delicious samples. It’s the easiest thing to just grab a bar of chocolate and tuck into it without a thought of the journey it took to get into your hands. But that journey is remarkable and worth discovering. From the cocoa bean’s origins in Central America, through its long history and into its transformation to become a mouthful of decadent delight – you can’t help but be in awe of chocolate’s incredible story. Willy Wonka who? After all that history, we think it’s about time you got some hands-on experience, wouldn’t you agree? First things first, pull up your sleeves and tie that apron on tight, chocolate has a way of getting everywhere if you’re not careful.…

How I list these

Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: Lovetovisit and Viator. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in York: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.

Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.

A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.

I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
