Experience Days

Wingly

Wingly connects passengers with private pilots and commercial operators who fly sightseeing routes and day trips from UK airfields. Rather than a conventional booking site, it works more like a marketplace where you send a request and wait for the pilot's reply. Here is how it works and what to weigh before booking.

No codes right now. We haven't confirmed a Wingly code or deal yet. Follow the store and we'll email you when one lands.

Wingly: what to know before you buy

Choosing between a private pilot and an operator

Wingly lists two types of provider, and the difference matters. Private pilots fly in their spare time and share the cost of the flight with passengers, so they make no profit. Commercial operators are professional partners running flights with certified pilots. If you want a relaxed, sociable flight that feels like a shared hobby, a private pilot suits you. If you prefer a more formal, structured experience, an operator may be the better fit.

Picking a flight that matches your plans

Sightseeing flights are the platform's most popular format, with routes often built around coastal and landscape views. The listings include scenic flights such as tours of the Lake District, helicopter trips over London, and St Ives and St Michael's Mount routes from Newquay. Day trips take you to a destination, such as a hotel or island, and bring you back. Check the duration and passenger number on each listing, since these shape both the price per person and how much time you spend in the air.

Sending a request and what to expect

You do not pay for a seat on a fixed timetable. Instead, you send a flight request and the pilot replies, with Wingly stating that you should receive an answer within 48 hours. Build a little flexibility into your dates, because the flight can only go ahead once the pilot confirms and the weather allows it. Meet your pilot at the airfield before departure, and ask any questions about the route at that point.

Booking a gift instead

If you are buying for someone else, Wingly sells gift cards that can be redeemed against a flight experience. The card is valid for one year from the date of purchase and can be extended within that period. This suits people who have a particular interest in aviation but might not want to choose the route themselves.
