Is Amazon Prime worth it?
Does it pay for you?
Prime Annual: pays for itself from 20 One-Day deliveries a year, at £4.99 a One-Day delivery.
- Prime Annual£95 a yearFrom 20 One-Day deliveries a year
- Prime Monthly£8.99 a monthFrom 22 One-Day deliveries a year
- Prime for Students and 18-24 year-olds (monthly)£4.49 a monthFrom 11 One-Day deliveries a year
At 20 One-Day deliveries a year you'd save £4.80.
Each One-Day delivery saves £4.99: what Amazon charges non-members for One-Day delivery on most items. We count only that saving; anything else it includes is yours to weigh.

Our note
On 21 October, Alston & Bird reported that the government had laid draft subscription rules before Parliament on 19 October. If approved, from 1 January 2027 a reminder will generally be required before the first payment after a free or discounted period. Amazon Prime starts with a trial that becomes a paid subscription until cancelled.
Amazon Prime has a 30-day free trial and includes One-Day delivery, free Same-Day delivery on eligible orders over £20 in selected postcodes, and Prime Video with limited ads. It also includes Prime Reading, Amazon Music Prime, Amazon Photos, Luna and Deliveroo Plus Silver. Students and 18 to 24-year-olds have a lower monthly price.
Without Prime, Amazon's UK delivery page lists charges for faster delivery: media One-Day delivery is £3.99 and Same-Day is £5.99. Eligible books of £10 or more, or delivery to a Pick-up Location, can qualify for free standard delivery. I would put the deliveries and viewing I would use beside those free options, and keep track of when the trial ends.
