**THIS IS THE MATINEE SHOW - ALL AGES PERMITTED - THE EVENING SHOW IS NOW SOLD OUT**Folklore Sessions Presents; Slow Leaves£15adv | The Folklore RoomsNovember 14th | All Ages"I don't write sad songs, I write lonely songs," declares Slow Leaves in the liner notes to his 2025 album In Solitude, For Company. His assertion could serve as a thesis statement for a body of work with recurrent themes of love, loss, loneliness, memory, and time. Slow Leaves is the project of Winnipeg's Grant Davidson. Awarded Western Canadian Music Awards Songwriter of the Year, his folk and psych-rock inclinations though rooted in fingerpicking songwriter of the past, roam freely in today's post-genre landscape. On his newest release and sixth Slow Leaves album of new material, The Ruins of Things Unfinished, Davidson explores his thoughts on ambition and the long setting sun of a life dedicated to art and family. "I've somehow made a career of self-perceived failure," he writes. "I've often reflected on whether that mindset fulfills its own prophecy: quite possibly. But I think at heart, I'm not seeking greatness, at least not outside my own little world. Or maybe I've simply given up on misplaced ambitions. My ambition now is a life of greatness in small spaces, a private fame in close quarters, a life so intimate it need only whisper its declarations of love and victory." The Ruins of Things Unfinished came out in May 2026 on Birthday Cake Records and Make My Day in G/S/A/Benelux.

How I list these
Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in Brighton: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.
Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.
A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.
I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
