About the event
From See Tickets's listing
Singing shanties and songs of the sea out of Brightlingsea, Essex. Long, long ago, a group of likeminded chaps hit on the idea of singing sea shanties for fun. Despite it being a late night at the yacht club, most remembered the idea the day after and thus The Motley Crew was born. From there they’ve gone on to sing at fetes, smack and barge matches, regattas, dinners, weddings, parties, shop openings and numerous other events. Highlights include performing at the London Marathon, the Cutty Sark, the Harwich International Shanty Festival, and the Colchester Oyster Feast. They also get together at Christmas to sing traditional wassail carols, too. They’ve supported lots of charities over the years, but their main charity is the RNLI (as most of them sail, they figure it's a good investment) and they’ve raised thousands of pounds for this worthy cause. They don’t take themselves too seriously. Audiences appreciate their robust, light-hearted style and so long as everyone all enjoys themselves and the RNLI gets a few more well-deserved pennies out of their efforts, that’s all that matters. This show is Reserved Seating. For all enquiries / disabled bookings, please call the Box Office on 07879 208141.

How I list these
Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in Colchester: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.
Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.
A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.
I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
