About the event

From See Tickets's listing

The Bayeux Tapestry: a conversation with British Museum exhibition curator Michael Lewis and medieval historian Janina Ramirez Join Professor Janina Ramirez, Lifetime President of Gloucester History Festival and medieval historian alongside British Museum's Bayeux Tapestry exhibition curator Professor Michael Lewis for an enthralling discussion on one of the world's greatest medieval treasures. Learn about the tapestry's rich storytelling, handcrafted details and extraordinary history across the centuries. Hear which threads, characters and scenes fascinate Janina and Michael the most and uncover your new favourite fact about this remarkable embroidery. This event includes a 20min interval, audience Q&A and book signing with both authors. Associated exhibition books on the Tapestry, published by the British Museum Press, will be available to buy at the event alongside a selection of Janina Ramirez's work. All ages welcome. Discounted ticket rate of £10 for under 16s (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). About the Authors Professor Michael Lewis is Curator of The Bayeux Tapestry and former Head of Portable Antiquities and Treasure at the British Museum. He's a Visiting Professor in archaeology and social humanities at the universities of Exeter, Reading and Helsinki, with a particular interest in medieval small finds. Lewis has written many articles and several books on the Bayeux Tapestry, including The Story of the Bayeux Tapestry (2021) with David Musgrove.…

How I list these

Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in Gloucester: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.

Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.

A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.

I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
