About the event
From See Tickets's listing
January Blues Festival presents P.P. ARNOLD + special guests P.P. Arnold is affectionately known as London's First Lady of Soul. Born Patricia Ann Cole in Los Angeles, California, she grew up singing gospel before joining Ike & Tina Turner's Ikettes in the mid-1960s. Arriving in Britain in 1966, she attracted the attention of Mick Jagger, who helped secure her a recording contract with Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate Records. Her acclaimed albums The First Lady of Immediate (1967) and Kafunta (1968) established her as a major figure in the Swinging Sixties, producing timeless classics including The First Cut Is the Deepest, (If You Think You're) Groovy and Angel of the Morning, now favourites among mod, soul and Northern Soul enthusiasts. During the late 1960s and 1970s, Arnold became closely associated with the Small Faces, contributing memorable backing vocals to Tin Soldier and Itchycoo Park, while collaborating with artists including Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Barry Gibb, Humble Pie and Nick Drake. Her extraordinary career continued through the following decades, with notable appearances on Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer, The Beatmasters' 1988 dance hit Burn It Up, and recordings by The KLF, Primal Scream and Ocean Colour Scene. How I list these
Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in London: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.
Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.
A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.
I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
