About the event
From See Tickets's listing
The music of City of the Sun is essentially a genre of its own - experimental, yet accessible, filled with tension, yet still joyful. Theirs is a sound which you can neither pinpoint, nor stop listening. At its core are founding members John Pita, lead guitarist and frontman, who was raised in Ecuador with all its influences, and percussionist/drummer Zach Para, a Seattle native who made his way in the jazz world and studied at the Boston Conservatory before connecting with John in NYC. Rounding out the quartet are bassist Matt Fasano and guitarist Marco Bolfelli. The band’s sound has an array of influences that include everything from Indie Rock to American Folk, Flamenco, and Blues. At the beginning, they bonded over everything from Dire Straits to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin to Santana and The War on Drugs to Coldplay. They would mine the inspirations and introduce a melodic joy through virtuosic chops. As John says, “The good thing about being an instrumental band and having played on the streets for so long is that we had a bunch of colors to work with and could use them as we pleased to create something new and paint our own picture.” City of the Sun has sold out some of NYC’s most prestigious venues, including Brooklyn Steel, Irving Plaza, Bowery Ballroom and Gramercy Theater. They’ve toured with Thievery Corporation, Peter Bjorn & John, G.…

How I list these
Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in Manchester: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.
Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.
A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.
I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
