Viator's lowest price for one person when two book together. Private tours are often priced for the whole group, and a few add a charge you pay on the day; Viator shows the total for your group before you pay. We may earn a commission when you shop through these links, at no extra cost to you.

About it

From Viator's listing

Explore York with a real Viking! Join your guide for a private, two-hour walking tour through the city’s remarkable Viking past. Hear the stories of famous figures including Ragnar, Ivar the Boneless, Erik Bloodaxe and Harald Hardrada, and discover why York became such an important Viking stronghold—and the setting for so many battles. Your tour is arranged around you. Choose a meeting time and place that suits you, including your hotel, then explore at your own pace without a fixed group or schedule. It’s a lively, friendly way to discover Viking York, with history and storytelling brought together by a guide in Viking character. For a small additional fee, you can add a stop at an authentic Viking-themed bar, on a site associated with York’s Viking kings—a cosy option on a cold day.

How I list these

Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: Viator. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in York: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.

Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.

A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.

I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
