Shopping with Saltrock

What Saltrock is actually for

Saltrock began in 1988 with two surfing brothers printing their own designs on T-shirts, and it still designs out of Devon. Today it is a lifestyle label: logo tees, sweatshirts, fleeces, jackets, dresses, knitwear and swimwear, plus a pile of extras like changing robes, bags and a pet range. It is not a technical kit brand. I would happily buy the cosy, everyday stuff here, but if I were buying a wetsuit for regular cold-water sessions I would compare it with the specialist surf shops first.

Delivery and returns, in plain numbers

Standard UK delivery is £3.95 and takes about 3 to 5 working days, and it is free on orders over £50 (UK mainland). Express is £5.95 for 1 to 2 working days, and an order in before 3pm on a weekday goes out the same day. There is also Local Collect, which sends your parcel to a Royal Mail collection point for £2.45 (free over £50). The delivery page quotes 5 to 7 working days for that one, so it is the slow option, and you need ID to pick up. Those timings are Royal Mail's estimates, not promises, and sales weeks run slower. It does not ship outside the UK at the moment.

Returns are the nicest bit. You get 30 days from receiving the parcel, UK returns by Royal Mail's tracked service cost nothing, and you can also hand things back in a Saltrock shop with your order email. Items need to come back unworn, new and in their packaging. Refunds are aimed at 7 to 10 working days once the parcel lands. One quirk: anything bought through TikTok Shop has to go back through TikTok, not Saltrock's own route.

How the discounts really work

  • Codes only apply to full-price items, cannot be combined with other offers, and exclude accessories, surfboards, bodyboards, balance boards, paddleboards, ponchos and wetsuits. If something is already on sale, expect the code to refuse it.
  • There is a Student, 16-26 and Apprentice discount, and a separate page for key workers and the military. They run through verification partners such as Blue Light Card and the Defence Discount Service, so you prove who you are on their side first. Percentages vary by group, so I will not guess.
  • Gift cards are the odd one out. They currently work in shops only, though customer service will turn one into an online voucher if you email them the barcode.

Paying

The site takes cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay and Klarna, which is handy if you are buying a few winter layers at once. Faulty item? Email photos to the customer service address and they will swap it for the same thing where stock allows, or refund.
