Toby Tiger: what to know before you buy
The story
Toby Tiger was started by knitwear designer and author Zoe Mellor, who saw a gap for kids' clothes that were fun, practical and kinder to the planet. The label is named after her son Toby, and its first products were colourful slogan t-shirts. It still has a flagship shop in Brighton, and its clothes are also sold by independent boutiques.
Organic cotton
The brand's idea is that organic does not have to be beige. It uses organic cotton in bright colours and says it looks for planet-friendly dyes and ethical working, so the clothes are bright without being a compromise.
The range
Baby bodies, bibs, knot hats, sleepsuits, dungarees, party dresses, pyjamas, hoodies and swimwear all feature. The look is stripes, rainbows and soft character appliqués, and the brand says each design is made with practicality in mind, with easy poppers, adjustable straps and reversible fabric.
