About the event

From See Tickets's listing

Handel - Overture to Messiah Vivaldi - The Four Seasons This one-hour programme pairs two of the best-loved works of the Baroque era. Opening the evening is the overture from Handel's Messiah, whose stately opening and dramatic contrasts have made it one of the defining sounds of the festive season. The concert culminates in Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, one of the most famous and instantly recognisable works in all classical music. Each concerto depicts a different season, shaped by accompanying poems - possibly written by Vivaldi himself - and inspired by the vivid seasonal landscapes of artist Marco Ricci. Across the four concertos, Vivaldi transforms the natural world into vivid musical scenes, evoking birdsong and buzzing flies, harvest celebrations, drunken revellers, barking dogs, summer storms and winter ice. Whether you're already in the know or completely new to classical music, this is a programme to be enjoyed by all.

How I list these

Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in Newcastle: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.

Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.

A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.

I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
