About the event

From See Tickets's listing

Two distinctive & cherished voices in British folk music team up in this fantastic new collaboration. Both Belinda and Jackie are celebrated for their exquisite musicianship, deeply expressive music and warm down-to-earth connection with their audience. Having been friends for years, and shared many stages and studios, they have a fantastic natural rapport both musically and personally. The concert will weave together original compositions with traditional folk music and song; the experience promises to be spell-binding - with plenty of humour, reflection, beauty and connection. A two-time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner and five-time nominee, Jackie Oates is an exquisite singer, expressive fiddler, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work has redefined contemporary English folk. Across a string of critically acclaimed solo albums, Jackie has cemented her reputation as one of our most gifted interpreters and performers of traditional song. Jackie persistently seeks out unexpected artistic corners to illuminate with her voice, research, writing, and musicianship. Belinda O'Hooley is an acclaimed pianist, singer and composer whose music is steeped in a rich musical heritage and draws inspiration from her Irish roots; Belinda comes from a long line of County Sligo musicians. Widely known as one half of the celebrated duo O'Hooley & Tidow, Belinda and Heidi achieved international recognition for writing the theme to the hit television series Gentleman Jack.…

How I list these

Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in York: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.

Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.

A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.

I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
