About the event
From See Tickets's listing
Say Owt presentsLuke Wright: Yes. The Crescent, YorkThursday 27th May Doors 7pm, Show 7.30pm *This is a seated show with all seating unreserved* Say Owt presents stand-up poet Luke Wright. Luke used to think he had the answers. Now he's not so sure. For twenty-five years, Fringe First winner Luke Wright has been writing poems that wrestle with the world around him. In this new show, he discovers that certainty is rarely as useful as he once thought. As children grow up, heroes become more complicated and old certainties begin to wobble, Wright finds himself looking again: at the country he lives in, the people he loves, and even those he thought he'd already made his mind up about. Part poetry, part stand-up Yes. is about changing your mind without losing your convictions - and staying open in an increasingly entrenched world. "Honesty, humour, ire and wonder. He is at the peak of his powers." ***** The Stage "His poems shoot arrows through the heart." ***** The List "A sharpness and wisdom that lifts the soul and soothes the battered heart." **** The Scotsman "Witty observation and rollicking acuity." **** The Guardian

How I list these
Everything here comes from the feeds of the ticket and experience sellers I work with: See Tickets. That's a lot, but it isn't everything on in York: venues that sell their own tickets, or sell through sellers whose feeds don't reach me, won't show here yet.
Events are in date order, and a show on several dates appears once, on its first, with how many more there are. Things to do any day start with the seller's own UK picks, then those rated 4.5 or more, guided before self-guided, shared before private, then by rating and price. Every ticket link is an ad: if you buy, the seller may pay me commission, at no cost to you. Commission never changes what's listed or the order.
A price is the seller's lowest for one ticket (or one person, when two book a tour together), as its feed gives it, and I've checked on each seller's own pages what it covers. See Tickets's includes its booking fee, and it adds an order fee to each booking (£1.25 to £4 on the events I checked), which I show beside the price. Where I haven't checked what a seller's price covers, or its feed is more than a day and a half old, I show no price at all.
I don't list resold tickets for football in England and Wales, or for any match in a UEFA or FIFA competition: selling or advertising them without the organiser's permission is a crime (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Times are UK times. Events change and sell out, so the seller's page is the final word.
