How to cancel Tate membership
You can cancel Tate membership in writing. Annual Direct Debit renews each year until you cancel; Monthly Direct Debit is 12 payments for a year, and the rest are still due if you stop partway.
Step by step
- Email the Tate Members team at [email protected] and say you'd like to cancel your membership.
- If you'd rather keep it for less, ask in the same email about a cheaper membership type or changing how often your fee is due.
- On Annual Direct Debit, cancel before it renews: Tate writes to you at least ten days before the payment is taken.

Notice

Leaving early
Cancel a Monthly Direct Debit partway through the year and Tate says you must still pay all instalments due for the rest of it.

Your rights
If you signed up online or by phone, you can usually cancel within 14 days of the day you signed up, without giving a reason.
Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 29
If you asked for it to start within those 14 days, you usually pay for what you had up to the day you told them you were cancelling.
Digital content, such as a film or a book you stream or download, is the exception: once it has started with your agreement, and you accepted that you'd lose the right to cancel, you usually lose those 14 days.
If Apple or Google Play bills you for it, you cancel it with them, not with the seller. On Google Play, deleting the app doesn't cancel it.
