Store card Co-op

Co-op Membership Signing in, the app, Apple Wallet and a lost card

Co-op Membership is the Co-operative Group's member scheme, used in its own Co-op food shops but not in independent co-operative societies. Members get Member Prices on selected products, choose personalised offers every week and pick a local cause to support. Joining costs £1, which buys you one share in the Co-op, and you get the £1 back as an offer on your first shop in store.

Free. I keep your card's barcode ready for the till. I'm not Co-op's app, so I can't see your points.

No, only you

I read these on Co-op's own help pages and terms on 13 October 2026. Each answer below has its sources.

How do I register my Co-op membership card and sign in?

Short answer: Join online for £1

Join in the Co-op App or at coop.co.uk/membership by filling in a short form and paying £1. If you bought a £1 temporary card in a shop, register it in the app, online or on 0800 023 4708 within a month of first using it, or Co-op cancels it and you lose what you earned on it. Sign in to your membership account from the same page or in the app.

Is there a Co-op membership card app?

Short answer: Yes, the Co-op App

Yes. Your digital membership card is in the Co-op App (listed as Co-op Membership: Shop & Save in the app stores) or in your online membership account on your phone, and you scan it at the till to get Member Prices and use your offers. A plastic card is optional: when you join you choose a digital card only or both, a plastic card comes within 10 working days, and Co-op Funeralcare's member prices need the plastic one.

Can I add my Co-op membership card to Apple Wallet?

Short answer: Yes, from the Co-op App

Yes. Co-op's App Store listing says you can add your membership card to Apple Wallet from the Co-op App, for offline access. I couldn't find Co-op's step-by-step instructions.

I've lost my Co-op membership card. What do I do?

Short answer: Report it in your account

Tell Co-op straight away by signing in to your online membership account, where you can get a replacement: Co-op cancels the lost card and makes a new one with a new number. If you shop without a card meanwhile, ask for a "forgotten card receipt" at the till before you pay, then register the shop at coop.co.uk/membership within 14 days. A lost temporary card is different: you lose what you earned on it and the £1 you paid.

Where do I find my Co-op membership card number?

Short answer: On your card or fob

It's the number on your membership card or key fob. A £1 temporary card from the shop has your temporary membership number on it, and your permanent card keeps that number once you register. Online, you enter it at checkout on shop.coop.co.uk to get Member Prices.

Can I add my Co-op membership card to Google Wallet?

Short answer: Yes, from the Co-op App

Yes. Co-op's Google Play listing says you can add your membership card to Google Wallet from the Co-op App, for offline access. I couldn't find Co-op's step-by-step instructions.

Can I share my Co-op membership card points with family?

Short answer: No, it's not transferable

No. The terms say you can't give or transfer your rights as a member to anyone else, membership points included, and Co-op doesn't have to accept that anyone but you has a right to your dividend. Check your card's terms.

Can I get a second Co-op membership card for my household?

Short answer: No, cards are personal

Not for anyone else. You can only have one membership account at a time, and your card can only be used by you, for you. Anyone else in your home can join with a £1 membership of their own. Check your card's terms.

Can someone else use my Co-op membership card?

Short answer: No, only you

No. The terms say your card can only be used by you, for you, and that you can't give it to someone so they get member deals, prices or points. Your account and digital card can only be used by you, and the card can't be used on more than one device at the same time. Check your card's terms.

I checked these answers against Co-op's own pages on 13 October 2026. Schemes change their rules, so check your card's terms before you count on one.

Questions people ask

Can someone else use my Co-op membership card?

No. The terms say your card can only be used by you, for you, and that you can't give it to someone so they get member deals, prices or points. Your account and digital card can only be used by you, and the card can't be used on more than one device at the same time. Check your card's terms.

Can I keep my Co-op membership card on my phone with Vouchernaut?

Yes, free. Scan its barcode at vouchernaut.com/cards, or take a photo of it, and it's saved with the barcode drawn sharp for the till. Without an account it stays on that phone; a free account keeps it if you change phones.

Does Vouchernaut add my Co-op membership card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

No. Vouchernaut keeps your card in its own wallet in your browser and doesn't make Apple Wallet or Google Wallet passes. For Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, see what Co-op says above.

Can my family use my Co-op membership card from Vouchernaut?

Yes, if you share it: start a free family, invite the people you shop with and tap Share on the card. It shows on their phones until you stop sharing. Every scheme sets its own rules on who can use a card, so sharing is your call. Check your card's terms.

Will the till scan my Co-op membership card from my phone?

Most tills read barcodes from a phone screen. Vouchernaut draws the barcode again sharp and checks it reads back as your number before it's marked ready for the till. If one struggles, turn your screen brightness up, or read out the number underneath.

Does Vouchernaut see my points or what I buy?

No. It keeps your card's barcode and number to show at the till. It doesn't read your points or balance, track what you buy or sell anything on.
